Document Apostille in Kazakhstan

An apostille certifies a Kazakhstani document for use abroad. Review takes 2–3 business days, and the apostille itself never expires — it's valid for as long as the underlying document is.

Who it's for

You need an apostille if a Kazakhstani document — a diploma, marriage certificate, criminal record certificate, and similar — needs to be presented abroad for study, employment, obtaining a status, or a transaction in another country.

It also works the other way: if you have a foreign apostilled document that needs to be used in Kazakhstan, we can help with translating and legalizing it to meet Kazakhstani requirements.

How it works

An apostille is affixed to the original document or to a notarized copy. For one-off documents — a diploma, a marriage certificate — it's usually better to use a notarized copy so the original stays with you.

  • The original document or its notarized copy
  • The applicant's identity document
  • A power of attorney — if a representative is filing on your behalf

Worth knowing in advance

  • An apostille doesn't require any further notarization once it's affixed
  • There's no expiration on an apostille — it's valid for as long as the document itself is
  • Applications are reviewed by territorial justice departments; the CON acts as the intake and issuance operator
  • www.egov.kz lets you track your application status online
